GRAND PRAIRIE – A celebration of the life of John W. Dickerson, 71, of Grand Prairie will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 26 at Haltom Road Baptist Church in Haltom City. Interment will follow at 3:00 p.m. in Arledge Ridge Cemetery in Bonham. Mr. Dickerson passed away Saturday, April 19, 2008 in his home and surrounded by his family.
John was born November 10, 1936 in Prescott, Arkansas. After graduating from Bonham High School in 1958, he went on the get his degree from T.C.U. in 1958. A successful coaching career included sending 39 athletes on to college with scholarships. John’s family will forever treasure his devotion and humorous personality.
Family visitation is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Friday, April 25 at Greenwood Funeral Home.
John W. Dickerson is survived by his wife of 52 years, Patsy; children, Angela Dickerson, Diana Wolf, Karen Hollis and husband, Robert; son, John "Rick" Dickerson and wife, Karen; seven grandchildren; two great-grandsons; and sister, Jo Thomas and husband, Claude.
