“Texas is one of a small number of states that requires all elected county officals to earn continuing education credits,” explained Richard Avery, Director of the Institute. “The Insitute provides education to county commissioners, judges, treasurers, tax-assessors and county and district clerks through programs conducted across the State.”
County treasurers who attend all of the sessions during the conference received twenty hours of credit.
The annual continuing education seminar was sponsored by the V.G. Young Institute of County Government, which is part of the Texas AgriLife Extension Service.
The Institute provides elected county officals with information and technical assistance, and helps officals complete their state-mandated, continuing education requirements.
