DALLAS — U.S. Attorney Richard B. Roper of the Northern District of Texas and Robert E. Casey, Jr., Special Agent in Charge, FBI Dallas, confirm that a federal search warrant was executed at the YFZ Ranch in Eldorado, Texas, on Tuesday, April 8, 2008.  The application and affidavit in support of the search warrant are sealed and will remain sealed; no further comment will be made as this is a pending investigation.

According to Wikikedia, the YFZ Ranch, also known as the Yearning for Zion Ranch, is a 1,700-acre compound just outside of Eldorado in Southwest Texas. It is owned by the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. It is about 145 miles southwest of Abilene and 4 miles northeast of Eldorado, Texas.

The Ranch was settled by members of the FLDS Church who left Hildale, Utah and Colorado City, Arizona under increasing scrutiny from the media, anti-polygamy activists and law enforcement officials.

More than 400 children have been removed from the ranch since April 4, 2008, by Texas Child Protective Services.
