Tuesday, March 25 one of Perrin's old F-86Ls, Sabrejet tail number 51-6144, returned to Perrin Field's maintenance hanger after more than a half century up on a pedestal as a static display at Post 26, American Legion Post in Sherman, Texas.

In spite of 50-mph gusts, it was lifted off of large aircraft tires as cushions where it was for a few months due to cold weather. It was lifted and lowered upon a special made four-wheel-dolly by Air # 1, and towed into one of North Texas Regional Airport-Perrin Field's maintanance hangers. Following clean-up restoration and preparation,  the Sabrejet will become a static display at it "home base,"  Perrin Field.

Volunteers from Air #1, lead by Mr. Victor Miller, volunteers from the Perrin AFB Museum and the gracious donation of one the giant lifting cranes from Scharff's Crane Rental accomplished the move.

Previous aircraft maintenance technicians, military or civilian who would like to help with the restoration of the Sabrejet are welcome. Those interested please contact the Perrin AFB Museum aty (903) 786-8741 during the hours 10 am to 4 pm, Tuesday through Saturday.
