The Ector Eagles scored first, but the deciding moment in this contest Friday was a three-run blast by Wolfe City in the bottom of the sixth inning that gave the Wolves an 8-4 victory over the Eagles.

Ector led 1-0 after two innings and the teams were all knotted up at 2-2 going into the fourth frame.  The Eagles slipped in front, 3-2, in the top of the fourth inning, but Wolfe City came back to plate three runners in the bottom half of the inning to take a 5-3 lead.

The determined Eagles closed to within 5-4 in the top of the fifth inning, but a two-out, three-run homer by Wilkinson in the bottom of the sixth stanza gave the Wolves an 8-4 win.

Ector's Efrain Nino went 2-for-4 with an RBI, Zakree Thompson was 1-for-2  with a double and scored twice,  while Joseph Spindle  and Caleb Self both went 1-for-2.

Brandon Witte  went the distance for Ector, striking out six and yielding eight hits.

The Ector boys are 2-6-1 for the year and 0-4 in district play.  The Eagles will be back in action March 25 at Sam Rayburn.
