The Trenton Lady Tigers (6-0) brought home the championship trophy Saturday night at the 4th Annual Glen Fields Basketball Tournament at Campbell High School by defeating tournament host the Campbell Lady Indians 53-39. The Lady Tigers started fast in the first period, 13-5, but the Lady Indians cut lead to five points by the half, 20-15. At the end of three, the Laday Indians had cut the lead to four points, 30-36. It was not until late in the forth quarter when the Lady Tigers took control of the game resulting in a final score of 53-39.
The leading scorer for the Lady Tigers was Alix Agan with 17 points. Hillary Baugh had 16 points and 10 rebounds. This was Hillary's 6th double-double of the season. Brianna Hart and Taryn Walls each had 8 points and Casey Beezley added 4 points.
"I am very proud of these ladies," Trenton head coach Mike Jones stated. "They came into this tournament very focused and commited. We had some outstanding performances from different players each night in a lot of different areas."
Hillary Baugh was slected the MVP of the tournament. Brianna Hart and Alix were selected to the All-Tournament Team.
Up next for the Lady Tigers is a home against the Bells Lady Panthers on Monday night. Junior Varsity games start at 4:30 pm.
