Local leaders are joining forces once again to serve up justice for children, youth and families who have suffered abuse and neglect. The third annual "Justice Is Served" will involve more than twenty different officials in the justice field, including judges, state lawmakers, local prosecutors, police chiefs, wardens and others.
The festivities will begin at 6:30 pm on Saturday, Oct. 6 at the Heritage Gardens in Bonham. The "honorable servers" will be dishing up barbeque and cold drinks at this fundraising event to benefit the Fannin County Children's Center.
Organizers are busy collecting donations for the silent and live auctions. Fannin County Sheriff Kenneth Moore once again serve as the auctioneer. Sports enthusiasts will be interested in the guided fishing tour for four at Lake Texoma, the autographed photo of Josh Howard of the Dallas Mavericks or the tickets to NASCAR events at Texas Motor Speedway.
Several handmade items are also included in the list of auction items. Justice of the Peace, Pct. 2 Alan Hale has made a beautiful garden bench from cedar and Tom Noneman has made an outdoor wooden swing for two. David McClure of McClure Electric Co. has framed a Texas flag in barn wood and taken the bottom of an old sewing machine and added a wooden table top with a drawer and a Texas flag in tile.
Jewelry, gift baskets, gift certificate to area merchants and restaurants, collectibles, lots of homemade goodies and other unique items will also be auctioned off in order to raise more funds for the agency's programs. A preview list of auction items including pictures of some items can be found on the agency's website fanninccc.org.
Proceeds from the event will help ensure that abused and neglected children in Fannin County will continue to have advocacy, forensic interviews, counseling, court accompaniment and other support services available to them.

Individual tickets are $35 in advance. Reserved table sponsorships are also available for two, four or eight people. Seating is limited and tickets at the door will be $40 if room is still available.
