White House Drug Czar to discuss threat of 'cheese' heroin during visit to DFW

- Will highlight random drug testing as tool communities can use to combat illegal drugs - 

Washington, D.C. - John P. Walters, Director of the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP) and President Bush’s “Drug Czar,” will be in Dallas/Fort Worth next Wednesday, August 1, 2007, for a series of meetings and briefings with State and local officials. 

As part of the day’s activities, Director Walters will participate in a “Cheese” Heroin Task Force briefing with local law enforcement and education officials in Dallas. 

Immediately following the Task Force meeting, Director Walters and others will hold a press conference on random student drug testing and how it can be legally and effectively implemented to assist Texas schools and communities prevent, deter, and combat substance use.
