CRUCIAL TO EDUCATION - The Greater Texas Foundation partners with public, private and not-for-profit organizations to improve access and education for Texans. Texas A&M University-Commerce was selected for a significant gift of $1.5 million from the Foundation to promote interest and learning in science, technology, engineering, education and math as part of Project STEEM.

"We sincerely thank the Greater Texas Foundation for making Project STEEM possible," says McFarland. "Project STEEM is a real boost for rural Northeast Texas schools and their programs. STEEM is stimulating student interest and aptitude in math, technology and the sciences, and strengthening the knowledge and skills of teachers."  (A&M-Commerce photo/Craig Buck)
