May 13, 2006
Hot summer night in June Under the Texas Moon The Class of 65 is alive and fine We’ve all come back again Some were lovers, All were friends People we’ve been know ‘in For all of our lives We’ve gone our separate ways But we remember high school days And teachers that took the time To show us the way Conley, Ethelleen, Annie Pearl and Josephine I know they had a dream We’d make it some day. 40 years since I’ve seen them Still matchin faces with the names Only one thing we know for certain The twins still look the same. I remember yesterday Alan and Jana in the senior play And Roland on a breakaway From the 50 yard line And cheering him on to victory Were Doris, Sheryn and Cindy C. Both Carolyns and the Warrior Band Performing at half time. Dancin' at the State Park Parking when it got Dark American or the Drive In show On Saturday night. Drinking 7-up and Gin From his fathers liquor bin My first hangover was Courtesy of James Michael Fite What am I gonna say now when I see them I wonder if they will remember me I’m beginning to look a little older now But I’ve got a lot of company High School History A brown eyed girl and me I wonder what she’s been doing All these years And since she went away After graduation day Does some old song on the radio Bring her back here. Remember how we got our thrills Going over Leonard hills And did we really go too far When we went all the way Just when things were getting hot At Jimmies’ favorite parking spot He found that sometimes airplanes land On unlighted runways Drag Racing north of town Haunted house when the sun went down Driven up and down the drag Holdin hands Rock and Roll at the skating rink Senior party out at Fannin Lake You know I never ever got to dance I was playing in the band. 40 years now Not as many as we used to be Fathers, Mothers, Wives and Husbands Mortality. What am I gonna do when I see her I wonder if I will feel the same Is there a spark inside still burning? And will that spark start old flame.
