2005 Fannin County Fair Parade winners

If you look past the classic red and black pick-up, there were a bunch of lady outlaws riding up. But inside the hot rod, the marshall and the sheriff shared a laugh. Retired Fannin County Sheriff Talmadge Moore and this year's Parade Grand Marshall Bud Moody had everything under control.

Actually, the Lady Outlaws are a friendly group of women that enjoy horseback riding and last week they were the flagbearers and another colorful facet of the 2005 Fannin County Fair Parade.

The annual fall parade swelled to around 70 entries, leaving the square awash in color as War Dancers, little cheerleaders, some bigger cheerleaders, fair pageant contestants and political candidates all circled the Fannin County Courthouse in the time-honored tradition.

Talmadge Moore chauffeured Grand Marshall Bud Moody and trailing along behind was a cascade of Boy Scouts, Girls Scouts, the Friends of Fannin County Critters, firemen and many more reasons of why small town parades are better now than ever.
