Friday, July 15 at approximately 1:50 p.m., the Grayson County Sheriff’s Office received a call of a train derailment at the North Washburn Road crossing just north of  Hwy-56 near Bells.

No injuries are reported, no known chemicals have been spilled and no cars been reported to have turned over.

The only information that we have is that the cars came off the tracks and have dug into the North Washburn Road crossing.  This crossing is the main feeder road that citizens have been using to get around the construction of the new bridge on Hwy-56.  This road may be closed for some time until repairs can be made.

ALTERNATE ROUTE:  HWY-56 TO CRAFT ROAD, GO NORTH TO WATSON ROAD AND TURN EAST TO NORTH WASHBURN ROAD AND GO SOUTH TO McFARLAND ROAD AND GO EAST.  THIS WILL TAKE YOU TO HWY-69 IN BELLS.

No other information is available at this time.

Grayson County officials quickly routed traffic around the accident.
