Bonham, Texas -- Billy Wayne Lightfoot, beloved by his family and friends, went to his eternal home, surrounded by his family on March 23, 2025, at the age of 87 at his home in Houston, Texas. Born on April 7, 1937 in Bennington, Oklahoma, Billy leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering dedication to faith, family, and passion for life.

He married the love of his life, Bobbie Jean Hall, together they built a life filled with treasured memories, laughter, and steadfast devotion. Their 67 year marriage was a testament to love, commitment, and partnership through life’s joys and challenges.

Billy is survived by his wife, daughters, Alicia Lightfoot Caskey and husband, Drake; Angela Lightfoot Redondo and husband, Jorge; and daughter-in-law Elizabeth Lightfoot; grandchildren, Adam Lightfoot and wife Jamie, Matthew Lightfoot, Mary Rishel and husband Matt, Grant Caskey and wife Leah, Neil Caskey and wife Megan, Anagabriela Redondo de Benitez and husband Eduardo, Victor Manuel Redondo, Teresita Redono de Rincon and husband Jose’ ; great-grandchildren, Aaron, Zoe, Nathan, Robert, Lily, and Madeline Lightfoot, Rowen and Dean Caskey, Liv and Nolan Caskey, Brinlee and Baylee Rishel, Valeria Rincon Redondo. He is also survived by his brother, Larry Lightfoot.

Billy was preceded in death by his parents William Marion Lightfoot and Doris Clifton Lightfoot; brother, Garry Lightfoot; and beloved son, Anthony Wayne Lightfoot.

Billy was a natural born problem solver, a man who never just had a job - he had a passion for every challenge he took on. His professional life spanned years in the oil field industry and the automotive/trucking components industry. A gifted entrepreneur, salesman, and ranch manager, he was known for his deep knowledge, integrity, and ability to fix just about anything. Whether at work or at home, people knew they could count on him for his reliability and skill. Billy truly lived his work-life balance, finding joy in both his career and time with family.

Outside of work, Billy embraced life fully. He was an avid gardener, a skilled outdoorsman who loved camping, hunting, and especially boating and fishing. His infectious smile, big hugs, and an endless supply of witty stories, jokes, and wisdom made him a joy to be around. He had a way of making everyone feel welcome and loved, always reminding us, “Don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will take care of itself.”

Billy’s unwavering faith in Christ was his anchor through life’s storms, and now he has found his safe harbor in the arms of his Lord and Savior. Though he will be deeply missed, his love, laughter, and wisdom will forever live on the hearts of those he touched.

The family kindly asks that memorial contributions be made to the Mulberry Cemetery Association, honoring the place where Billy will rest in eternal peace.

Family visitation will be held at Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home in Bonham on Friday night, March 28, 2025 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.

Funeral services will be held at Mulberry Cemetery Pavilion on Saturday, March 29, 2025 at 2:00 p.m.
