Frisco, Texas --  Kaleidoscope Park Foundation invites the community to experience creativity in action during Chalk the Park, presented by the Andrea-Mennen Family Foundation, a free, family-friendly chalk art festival and competition  taking place Saturday, Nov. 7, from 3:00 to 9:00 p.m.

During the event, professional artists, local and regional artists, students, families and community members will transform designated areas throughout the Park into colorful works of temporary public art. Guests will be able to explore the completed artwork,  meet participating artists, take photos and enjoy hands-on art activities.

Visitors will also have the opportunity to vote for their favorite artwork through the People's Choice competition. Winners in the judged award categories will be selected by a jury, while the People's Choice Award will be determined by votes from guests attending  the event. Awards will be presented during the intermission of the evening concert.

"Art has a unique ability to bring people together, inspire imagination, and strengthen communities," said Shawn Jackson, Executive Director of Kaleidoscope Park and the Kaleidoscope Park Foundation. "We are proud to support Chalk the Park and help create opportunities
for artists of all ages and backgrounds to share their creativity while making the arts accessible and enjoyable for everyone."

Chalk the Park will welcome artists across multiple experience levels. Participation categories include teens ages 13 to 17, adults ages 18 and older, and opportunities for local students, families and hobbyists. Teen participants may select a 4-by-4-foot or  6-by-6-foot space, with 30 spaces available. Additional participation details will be provided to selected artists before the event.

Artists interested in participating will be asked to submit a sample of their work as part of the application process. Selected artists will receive information regarding check-in, assigned spaces, timing and event logistics during the week leading up to the festival. All participating artists must complete their artwork by 3 p.m. Saturday, when the event officially opens to the public.

The celebration will continue in the evening with a Kaleidoscope Live concert featuring Division 80, an 80's tribute band and food trucks will be available for purchases. Guests and participating artists are encouraged to stay after viewing the chalk artwork and enjoy live music in the Park. The event concludes at 9 p.m.

Chalk the Park celebrates creativity, imagination, public art and community connection while giving guests of all ages an interactive way to experience Kaleidoscope Park. Admission is free.
