Beaver, Arkansas -- Roger Fink of Tontitown in northwestern Arkansas landed this impressive 29-inch walleye while fishing with John Gerrard between Beaver town and Holiday Island on the White River/Beaver tailwater earlier last month. Fink was using a clown-colored crankbait. The female walleye was released back into the water after the photo op.

With the better weather sure to arrive soon, the fishing ought to be great.

We also heard from the Beaver Lake area, both the lake and tailwater, in this week's report that striper fishing is going well, while walleye like the one above could be on the end of your line as well.

Around the state, many spots are still stuck in summertime patterns, and yet some like Beaver Lake and even Millwood in southwest Arkansas are showing that fall is indeed on the horizon, with white bass becoming more active.
