Leonard, Texas -- Fresh off a strong showing in a tournament in Hawaii during the Labor Day weekend, the Leonard Lady Tigers put away the Bells Lady Panthers in straight sets in the District 11-3A opener.

Leonard had everything going its way in a 25-11 win to start the match.

The second set was much closer, with Leonard holding a one-point lead, 23-22, before the Lady Tigers knocked down the final two points for a 25-22 victory.

The third set was tied at 11-11, but Leonard took over late in the set to post a 24-17 win.

Leonard will put its No. 20-ranking on the line when the Lady Tigers travel to Gunter on Friday, September 11 and Bells will host Howe.
