Dodd City turned back Cumby, 25-23, in a competitive first set and the Lady Hornets followed up with a pair of overpowering victories, 25-13 and 25-11.

Gracyn Shindler knocked down a match-high 23 kills and also came up with 23 digs.

Kodi Dorau put down eight kills, Caroline Lackey finished with four kills and Kayleigh McBrayer had three kills.

McBrayer doled out 17 assists and had a team-high six aces.

Adisen White handed out seven assists, Kennedy Chaney dished out six assists and Paige Clark had three assists.

Chaney got under 16 digs and McBrayer had a dozen digs.

Makayla Camp and White both had three aces and Shindler had two aces.

Lackey had a team-high two blocks, while Shindler, Clark and Kendyl Lindsey all had one block.

The Lady Hornets will travel to Whitewright on Thursday, September 3 and host Sam Rayburn on Friday, September 4.
