The Ector Lady Eagles put together a strong showing at the Como-Pickton Tournament, battling through pool play and advancing all the way to the Gold Bracket Championship.

Ector opened pool play on Thursday and finished the day with a 2-1 record, picking up wins over Big Sandy and PTAA Fate. The strong pool-play performance earned the Lady Eagles a spot in the Gold Bracket.

In bracket play, Ector continued its run with a straight-set victory over Sulphur Bluff, advancing to the Gold Bracket Championship match. The Lady Eagles then faced a strong Como-Pickton squad on its home court. Ector battled throughout the championship match but ultimately fell to the host team, finishing the tournament as Gold Bracket runner-up.

The Lady Eagles had several strong individual performances throughout the tournament.

Adalynn Dederick finished with 18 aces, 25 kills, 48 assists and 33 digs. Audrey Arie recorded eight aces, two kills, five assists and a team-high 64 digs.

Alana Mackey led the offensive attack with 44 kills while adding six aces, two blocks, 28 assists and 30 digs. Ella Laymance contributed four aces, 13 kills and 21 digs.

Aleea Wheeler had 18 aces, eight kills, one block, four assists and one dig. Ainsley Greathouse added eight aces, four assists and 22 digs.

Cheyenne Beaty finished the tournament with 15 kills, one block, one assist and five digs, while Odette Cruz added five kills, four blocks and two digs.

As a team, Ector totaled 62 aces, 112 kills, eight blocks, 90 assists and 178 digs during the tournament.

The Lady Eagles continue to show their ability to compete against strong competition, finishing another tournament with a championship appearance and valuable experience heading into the next stretch of the season.
