Bonham, Texas -- To call the City of Bonham's "Tail End of Summer Adoption & Supply Drive" a success is the ultimate understatement; for a few fortunate cats and dogs, it may very well be the difference between life and death.

The City of Bonham Animal Shelter invited the community to show its love for our four-legged friends during the Tail End of Summer Adoption & Supply Drive held Saturday, August 29, 2026.

Some people adopted a new best friend, while others sponsored an adoption and donated supplies in a show of support for Bonham Animal Shelter.

Mallory McBroom and Jenniffer Self Knight welcomed visitors to the event and additional booths were also manned by Bonham Animal Clinic and Leonard Animal Clinic.

By noon, seven dogs and cats had been adopted and were on their way to loving forever homes. In all, more than a dozen pets woke up Sunday with their new best friends.

Everyone who adopted a pet or donated supplies during the event was entered to win a special pet prize basket that includes a free pet photo session, a $50 gift card to Fix N' Feed, and complimentary mobile pet grooming.

Guests attending the event enjoyed a complimentary lunch provided by Credit Union of Texas.
