Trenton, Texas -- The Dodd City Lady Hornets ventured into the lair of the Trenton Lady Tigers and found themselves with the small end of a 25-18 score in the opener.

Dodd City stormed back to take the next three sets, 25-16, 25-21 and 25-20 as the Lady Hornets moved to 8-2 on the season.

Dodd City junior Gracyn Shindler turned in another outstanding performance with 22 kills, but all the Lady Hornet hitters and a hand in this win. Kodi Dorau was also in double figures with 10 kills, Kayleigh McBrayer and Caroline Lackey both finished with five kills and Kendyl Lindsey had two kills.

Adisen White handed out 19 assists and McBrayer was close behind with 17 kills.

Shindler came up with a team-high 27 digs, followed by Kennedy Chaney (10 digs), Makayla Camp (7 digs), White (7 digs), McBrayer (6 digs), Dorau (6 digs), Lindsey (4 digs) and Clark (3 digs).

McBrayer led Dodd City at the service line with eight aces, Shindler finished with five aces, White had four aces and Dorau dropped in three aces.

Shindler, Lackey and Dorau all had one block apiece.

Dodd City will travel to Cumby on Tuesday, September 1 before hosting Sam Rayburn on Friday, September 4.
