Bonham, Texas -- The City of Bonham Animal Shelter invites the community to come together for its Tail End of Summer Adoption & Supply Drive on Saturday, August 29, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the City of Bonham Animal Shelter, 500 Industrial Dr., Bonham, Texas 75418.
The event is designed to help shelter animals find loving forever homes while giving members of the community an opportunity to support the shelter through donations and adoption sponsorships.
Whether you adopt a new best friend, donate much-needed supplies, or sponsor an adoption, every contribution helps provide hope, comfort, and a brighter future for animals who cannot speak for themselves.
Adopt or donate for a chance to win
Everyone who adopts a pet or donates supplies during the event will be entered to win a special pet prize basket.
The prize basket includes a free pet photo session, a $50 gift card to Fix N' Feed, and complimentary mobile pet grooming.
Guests attending the event can also enjoy a complimentary lunch provided by Credit Union of Texas.
Shelter Supply Drive
The City of Bonham Animal Shelter is currently seeking donations of items used every day to care for shelter animals. Most-needed items include:
- Flea bathing products for dogs, puppies, cats and kittens
- Pet treats and chew toys
- New blankets and towels
- Cat litter
- Dry dog food
- Puppy food
- Dry and canned cat food
- Leashes, collars and harnesses
Sponsor an Adoption for $60
Community members and local businesses can make an additional impact by sponsoring the adoption of a shelter pet for $60.
A $60 sponsorship covers the adoption fee for one animal, helping remove the adoption fee barrier for a new family and giving a deserving shelter pet a greater opportunity to find a loving forever home.
The need is especially important right now. The City of Bonham Animal Shelter currently has 13 fully vetted, spayed or neutered animals ready for adoption. The veterinary care for these animals was made possible through generous private funding.
In addition, the shelter is currently caring for 30 kittens that were born at the shelter following the surrender of several pregnant cats.
Each $60 adoption sponsorship can help one of these animals take the next step from the shelter into a permanent home.
Those wishing to sponsor an adoption may stop by the City of Bonham Animal Shelter between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. daily between now and August 29. Cash, checks and cards are accepted. Checks should be made payable to the City of Bonham Animal Shelter.
