Taylor Water Treatment Plant Recognized by TWUA

Lewisville, Texas -- Upper Trinity Regional Water District’s (UTRWD) Thomas E. Taylor Water Treatment Plant has been recognized as having the “Best Tasting Surface Water” in 2026 by the Texas Water Utilities Association (TWUA).

As part of the TWUA’s Annual School, water utilities from across Texas compete for the title of Best Tasting Water. Regional winners advance to the Annual School, where entries are judged on qualities such as clarity, aroma, and taste.
 
This statewide recognition highlights UTRWD’s dedicated and hard-working operators and maintenance personnel for their commitment to producing safe, clean drinking water for our communities.

Larry N. Patterson, Upper Trinity’s Executive Director, commented on the achievement, saying, “We’re honored to receive this recognition from TWUA. This award reflects greatly upon the knowledge, skill, and dedication of our staff, who work hard every day to provide safe, reliable, and great tasting drinking water to the 29 cities and utilities we serve.”

Located in Lewisville, Texas, the Thomas E. Taylor Water Treatment Plant is one of UTRWD’s key water treatment facilities, providing high-quality drinking water to a growing population across North Texas. The plant utilizes advanced treatment technologies and a rigorous monitoring program to ensure water meets or exceeds all state and federal quality standards.

About the Upper Trinity Regional Water District
