“Fishing is smack dab in the summer pattern. That means early or late is the best option.

“Stripers will bite from sunrise until 7:30 a.m. or so and turn back at dusk into the night. Fish are being caught from Point 5 down to the dam.

“Walleye are setup on points adjacent to deep main channel waters. Look in the 20- to 30-foot range . As usual in summer, crawler harnesses are your best bet.

“Bass are on those same points. Early and late on them are also your best bet. Crappie are suspended and catchable trolling. Try 70 feet back at 1.8 mph while pulling Lucas Cranks — that’s a great option. And catfish are there for the taking on noodles and trotlines.
