Leonard, Texas -- In a classic team effort, the Leonard Lady Tigers treated their hometown fans to a three-set win over the Whitewright Lady Tigers in a match that saw Leonard have an advantage in almost every facet of the game.

With junior setter Ava Flowers directing the action, the Leonard hitters took over in the first set. Sophomore Leah Stoy slammed down six kills, Bella Neaville had four kills, Avery Ross put down a pair of kills and Ashlynn Cavendar contributed a kill as Leonard pulled away for a 25-16 win.

The scores kept getting closer as the match progressed, but a determined Leonard team was not to be denied on this night.

Leonard took the next two sets, 25-18 and 25-22 to earn a sweep.

The Leonard Lady Tigers will head back to the Como-Pickton Volleyball Tournament on Saturday, August 29 for bracket competition.

Leonard will host Farmersville on Tuesday, September 1.

District play for the Lady Tigers begins September 8, 2026 when Leonard hosts Bells.

District 10-3A consists of Bells, Blue Ridge, Gunter, Howe, Leonard, Pottsboro and S&S.
