Texoma Medical Center welcomes new Chief Executive Officer

Denison, Texas -- Texoma Medical Center (TMC) is proud to announce that Andrew Wilson has been appointed its Chief Executive Officer. A native of the Dallas-Fort Worth area, Wilson comes to the Texoma region after serving as CEO of Doctors Hospital of Laredo (DHL) since January of 2024 where he led the development of a 24/7 neurosurgery program, achieved approval for a neuro interventional suite, and led numerous recruitment clinician efforts in urology, trauma surgery and other areas.

Wilson has supported Universal Health Services, Inc. subsidiary facilities since 2017when he joined as Associate Administrator at Doctors Hospital of Laredo. From 2019-2021, he was CEO of Cornerstone Regional Hospital (Edinburg, TX), where he created predictability and stability through the recruitment of new physicians, enhanced efficiencies in the OR, developed new programs in imaging and surgery, and continued the long tradition of clinical excellence and high customer service resulting in materially improved financial performance and company-leading patient experience.

In 2021, he assumed the COO role at South Texas Health System McAllen, where he led operational efficiencies resulting in higher average daily census and throughput, supported Level 1Trauma pursuit, coordinated new Graduate Medical Education program offerings, led the Neuro-ICU project conceptualization and BP/Proforma, and supported physician alignment efforts to broaden the medical staff specialty depth while improving the organization’s bottom line.

Andrew Wilson

Wilson started his career as a Laboratory Manager and has since worked his way up through positions of increasing responsibility in Hospital Administration. He is a respected executive and results-focused professional, well versed in the principles and methodologies of leading effective teams.

He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from the University of Texas at Arlington and his Master of Health Administration from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas.
