Lewisville, Texas -- Upper Trinity Regional Water District (Upper Trinity) has recently launched a new video series featuring the Trinity Trio — a cast of animation-style characters on a mission to help North Texas residents water smarter, not harder.

Residents are encouraged to visit www.utrwd.com/trinity-trio to learn more, follow along with the series, and sign up for a free irrigation checkup through Upper Trinity's irrigation evaluation program — a service that helps ensure sprinkler systems are running efficiently and not wasting water.

Meet Trinity the Water Drop, Spritz the Sprinkler, and Lawny the Lawn. Together, they bring to life some of the most common — and costly — outdoor watering mistakes homeowners make during the summer months.

Spritz is an enthusiastic sprinkler who means well but tends to overdo it, operating under the popular misconception that more water means a better lawn.

Lawny, the long-suffering lawn on the receiving end of Spritz's enthusiasm, is quick to let everyone know he is not impressed.

And Trinity is the calm, knowledgeable voice who steps in to provide water-saving advice — for Spritz and for viewers at home.

Outdoor irrigation accounts for more than half of residential water consumption in North Texas, much of which is wasted through inefficient watering habits. The Trinity Trio campaign is part of Upper Trinity's ongoing Water Less Y'all initiative to help residents across Denton and Collin Counties adopt smarter watering practices and protect the region's long-term water supply.

Catch us at area festivals and events to get your Trinity Trio trading cards, t-shirts and other swag!

"Water conservation is something we care deeply about — not just as a water provider, but as members of this community," said Jason Pierce, Upper Trinity’s Director of Governmental Affairs & Communications. "The Trinity Trio gives us a fun, approachable way to reach residents with information that can make a real difference in how much water we use and how much we waste. We hope people enjoy getting to know Trinity, Spritz, and Lawny this summer."
