Bonham, Texas -- On the morning of June 13th, 2026, our Lord and Savior saddled a bay gelding by the name of Batman and handed the reins to Kenny Johnson where he rode through the pearly gates into heaven. Kenny lost his battle to cancer with his wife at his side surrounded by family in his home.

Kenny was born August 17th, 1974, to Kenneth W. Johnson AKA (Heavy) and Melba Cockrill Johnson.

Kenny married Stacy Coffin on June 21st, 1997, and three years later their family grew, starting with daughter Gracie Rae, son Hayden Wayne, daughter Maddye Dawne, and then the baby boy Morgunn Colt.

Kenny was a third-generation truck driver and heavy equipment hauler who took great pride in his work and the life he built for his family. He loved the simple things most, time spent with those he loved, his faithful dogs Ellie Dawn, Cowboy, Marley, and Joe, and the outdoors that brought him so much joy.
Horses held a special place in Kenny's heart. He spent countless hours teaching his children and nieces how to ride, creating memories on trail rides that will be treasured forever. Summer days were often spent at the river surrounded by family and friends, while hunting season found Kenny sharing his passion for the outdoors and passing those traditions on to his children.

Kenny is survived by wife of 28 years Stacy, daughter Gracie, son Hayden, daughter Maddye, and son Morgunn, mother-in-law Patsy Coffin, sister-in-law Christy McCarley, nieces MaKayla McCarley and Hannah McCarley. Mother Melba Johnson and sister Michelle Johnson, sister Debra Fort and husband Darren, niece Megan Harlan and nephew Parker Fort and great nephew Gavin Johnson.

Kenny loved his family more than anything and was so happy to see that the family is sharing of love with Jackson Backus, Lainey George, Eli Mahan, Adam Samples and Case Lake.

He is preceded in death by SR Johnson and Nona Beth, Kenneth W Johnson, Weldon and Jean Cockrill, and Gerald Coffin.

Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home in Bonham. A funeral service honoring Kenny's legacy will be held on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home in Bonham.

Serving as pallbearers will be Noah Hernandez, James Johnson, Barry Williams, Stephen Cockrill, Randy Wilhelm, John Shipman, Danny Noltkamper, Ray Gibbs, and Corey Johnson. Honorary pallbearers will be Hayden Johnson, Morgunn Johnson, Eli Mahan, and Case Lake.
