Celebrate books, storytelling, and local literary talent May 30 at McKinney City Hall

McKinney, Texas -- The McKinney Public Library System, in partnership with the McKinney Public Library Foundation, invites the community to the 2026 McKinney Literary Fest on Saturday, May 30, for a full day celebrating books, storytelling, and local literary talent.

The free, come-and-go literary festival will feature more than 30 North Texas authors representing a variety of genres, including fiction, speculative fiction, romance, thrillers, and nonfiction.

Guests can enjoy the following:

  • Keynote presentations from bestselling and award-winning authors
  • Author readings and panel discussions
  • Book signings and meet-and-greet opportunities
  • Discussions featuring local and regional literary talent
  • A variety of genres including fiction, speculative fiction, romance, thrillers, and nonfiction
  • Opportunities to connect with readers and writers from across North Texas and beyond

The festival opens with keynote speaker Kayla Olson, bestselling author of The Reunion and The Lodge, and concludes with investigative journalist and author Claire St. Amant, known for Killer Story.

The McKinney Literary Fest is part of the library system’s Summer Literary Series, designed to promote literacy, encourage community engagement, and connect readers with writers from across North Texas and beyond.
