Full US 82 eastbound and westbound mainlanes and frontage roads closure notification

Sherman, Texas -- The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) officials have announced upcoming nightly full closures of the eastbound and westbound US 82 mainlanes, the eastbound and westbound US 82 frontage roads, and the northbound mainlanes beginning at 8:00 p.m. until 5:00 a.m. on May 21 until May 22.

The US 82 mainlane and frontage road closures permits the placement of US 75 bridge beams over US 82.

The US 82 eastbound mainlane traffic will be detoured at Exit 642, eastbound exit to US 75. Follow the posted detour and re-enter US 82 eastbound mainlanes near Loy Lake Road in Sherman.

The US 82 westbound mainlane traffic will be detoured at Exit 642B, westbound exit to US 75. Follow the posted detour and re-enter US 82 westbound mainlanes near Travis Street.

The US 75 northbound mainlane traffic will be detoured at Exit 65, exit to US 82.  Motorists will follow the marked detour and re-enter US 75 northbound mainlanes near Loy Lake Road in Sherman.

During this period, TxDOT urges drivers to exercise caution. Motorists who travel frequently in this area are asked to pay special attention to all barricades, traffic controls, and signs, and to reduce their speed as they approach and travel through work zones. Motorists should also avoid distractions such as cell phones, eating, drinking, or car audio or navigation systems. TxDOT also asks drivers to remain alert to road crews while navigating through the construction zone.
