Dodd City, Texas -- The Dodd City Hornets completed their 2026 campaign with a two-inning win over the Savoy Cardinals.

Savoy started the scoring with one run in the top of the first inning, but Dodd City scored eight runs in the bottom half of the frame and followed up with 13 runs in the second inning to post a 21-1 victory.

Dodd City's Tyler Denney went 2-for-2, scored three times and drove in three runs.

Eastyn Weissert was 2-for-3, with three RBIs and scored twice.

Judd Shipman was 3-for-3 with one RBI.

Aaron Solano went 2-for-4, scored twice and drove in a pair of runs.

Gavin Shindler, Cash Crossland and Kaleb Covington all had one hit apiece. Crossland crossed home plate three times and drove in two runs.

Covington pitched the first inning, struck out three and only allowed one hit.

Solano came on in relief and held Savoy hitless in the second inning.

Luke Peterson had Savoy's only hit.

The Dodd City Hornets will take on the Campbell Indians in a bi-district game set for Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. in Farmersville.
