Denton, Texas -- Denton County 4-H is gearing up for an exciting summer filled with hands-on learning, new experiences, and plenty of fun as it announces three summer camp opportunities for youth across the county.

Kicking off the summer is the Clover Kids Camp, scheduled for June 10, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Denton County AgriLife Extension Office, located at 611 Kimberly Drive, Suite 151 in Denton. Open to the public, this one-day camp is designed for youth who have completed kindergarten through third grade and serves as an introduction to the many opportunities available through 4-H.

Participants will take part in workshop-style rotations throughout the day, exploring a variety of project areas in an engaging, age-appropriate setting. Activities will include STEM experiments, food and nutrition cooking lessons, livestock project experiences, and more. The camp emphasizes 4-H’s “learn by doing” philosophy, helping youth discover new interests while building confidence and skills. The cost to attend is $25 per camper, and lunch will be provided.

Following closely behind is the two-day 4-H Science Camp, which will be held June 16–17 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. each day at the Denton County AgriLife Extension Office. Also open to the public, this camp is designed for youth who have completed third through fifth grade and are eager to dive deeper into the world of science.

Each day will feature multiple hands-on sessions focused on chemistry and biology, giving participants the opportunity to conduct experiments and explore scientific concepts in an interactive environment. Through these experiences, youth will strengthen critical thinking skills and gain exposure to STEM fields in a fun and engaging way. The cost to attend Science Camp is $20 per participant.

Rounding out the summer is the annual Denton County 4-H Camp, set for July 17–19 at Camp Copass in Denton. Open to all enrolled 4-H members, this overnight camp offers a traditional camp experience combined with meaningful learning opportunities.

This year’s theme, “Passport to Discovery in 4-H,” will take campers on a journey through the wide range of experiences 4-H provides. The camp will feature a mix of educational sessions and classic summer camp activities, including swimming, a ropes course, and evening campfires. Campers will have the chance to build friendships, develop independence, and create lasting memories in a supportive environment. The cost to attend is $175 per camper.

“These camps are a great way for youth to stay engaged over the summer while trying new things and building important life skills,” said Steven Baringer, Denton County Extension Agent for 4-H Youth Development. “Whether a child is brand new to 4-H or already involved, there is something for everyone.”
