Bonham, Texas -- Tamie Lee Latham, a loving and generous woman whose life was defined by service, family, and a steady spirit of kindness, was born on April 3, 1968, in Waterloo, Iowa, and passed away on April 14, 2026, in Bonham, Texas. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Wise Funeral Home, Bonham, TX.

Tamie lived a life that left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her. She earned a nursing degree and went on to build a remarkable career as a nurse, serving for more than 30 years before retiring. Throughout her three decades in nursing, she received many recognition awards, a reflection of the compassion, dedication, and professionalism she brought to her work each day.

Beyond her career, Tamie was known as a simple country woman who loved her cows, her farm, and the land she called home. She found joy in the quiet, steady beauty of rural life and took pride in the life she built. She was especially proud to be a mama and Nana, and she retired early so she could spend more time enjoying her grandchildren and the farm she loved so deeply. Family was at the center of everything she did, and she made sure the people she loved always felt that devotion.

Tamie shared 21 years of marriage with Steven Latham, and from the moment she met him, she knew she would marry him. Their bond was built on love, loyalty, and a shared life filled with meaningful moments. She was the person everyone called mama, because she had a way of caring for others that made them feel protected, welcomed, and valued. She was known for fixing any problem, offering calm in difficult moments, and keeping a positive outlook no matter what came her way. Her strength and warmth made her a source of comfort to many.

One of the family’s most cherished traditions was Friday night dinner, when everyone gathered together to share a meal and enjoy one another’s company. The family also enjoyed many trips to Broken Bow, creating memories that will be treasured for years to come.

She is preceded in death by grandparents, Caroline and Gene Fuls and Elmer and Marlene Stock Diekman.

Tamie is survived by husband, Steven Latham, children, Heather Moody, Tyler Raymond, parents, Gary and Mary Diekman, sisters, Jodi Trehan (Bipin), Julie Rodriguez (JL), Kristy Bonner, 5 grandchildren, along with many aunts, nieces and nephews.

Graveside service is Thursday, April 23, 2026 at Elwood Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. Please join the family to celebrate a beautiful life well lived.
