Johnson and Somerville Counties, Texas -- The Johnson and Somervell Counties District Attorney’s Office and the Texas Department of Public Safety are currently conducting a joint investigation of ongoing criminal activity involving Michael and Ashley Ketcherside and former members of the Godley Police Department.

On March 31, 2026, a search warrant was executed at the Ketchersides residence, yielding electronic communications and storage devices believed to be evidence of the ongoing criminal activity. These devices contained evidence of an ongoing prostitution conspiracy involving Ashley and Michael Ketcherside, and numerous clients over the past five years.

Additional evidence shows the Ketchersides collaborating with the then-sworn Chief of Police of The City of Godley and other officers. The Godley Police Department, under Chief Matthew Cantrell, conspired with the Ketchersides to compile information on local public officials and private citizens they perceived as adversaries. The officials known so far include members of the Godley City Council, Godley Independent School Board, the former mayor of Godley, and former Chief of Police of The City of Godley.

This is an active and ongoing investigation, and additional arrests are anticipated.

As the investigation progresses, we will update the public as needed.
