Living History Days slated for May 2 and June 6

Denison, Texas -- Frontier Village and Museum in Denison will hold the second of its Living History Days series on Saturday, May 2, 2026, giving visitors a chance to reflect on the life of settlers by touring some of the oldest homes and cabins in Grayson County while watching hands-on demonstrations by re-enactors.

The concept behind Frontier Village and Museum began 60 years ago when Grayson County residents realized the need to preserve the way of life for early settlers in North Texas. This historic village has cabins that date back to the 1840s as well as the picturesque Bollock/Bass House that is said to have had the first glass windows in Grayson County.

The village has a traditional dogtrot cabin, a saddle shop, a newspaper office a smokehouse and even a jail wagon where inmates slept after a long day of repairing roads.

Frontier Village and Museum in Denison has an additional Living History Days event scheduled for June 6, from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.
