Community Event Alert: Blood Drive

Bonham, Texas -- Texoma Medical Center-Bonham and Carter BloodCare are teaming up to save local lives with a Blood Drive set for April 14, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.

Health officials with Texas-based Carter BloodCare report a blood transfusion takes place in the United States every two seconds.

It saves the lives of children fighting cancer, older adults with age-related issues, people injured in car accidents, trauma patients and many others.

This makes blood donors vital to the health and well-being of the community.

Eligibility to donate blood begins at age 16 with parental consent, and those 17 and older can donate on their own with Carter BloodCare. Donors must weigh at least 110 pounds and feel well on the day of donation.

As a thank-you for donating blood in April, Carter BloodCare will give each donor a large quilted tote bag.

Also, Carter BloodCare donors with type O negative blood will receive a $50 e-gift card to the retailer of their choice. O negative is the universal blood type to support any patient, including premature and unborn babies.
