Grayson, County, Texas -- The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) officials have announced an upcoming nightly full closure of the northbound mainlanes beginning at 7:00 p.m. on Mar. 9 until 5:00 a.m. on Mar. 10.

This closure is to permit the switching of the northbound traffic from US-82 to Spur 503 onto the new pavement and moving the concrete barrier. All entrance and exit ramps along this corridor will be closed to traffic and temporary ramps will be constructed.

Detours will be posted for traffic to follow.

After the traffic switch, the NB exit to FM 691 and Texoma Medical Center (TMC), will be temporarily closed to traffic. Message boards will be in place directing traffic to exit at US-82 and follow the northbound frontage road to access FM 691 and Texoma Medical Center (TMC).

The northbound entrance ramp from Loy Lake Road in Sherman will also be temporarily closed to traffic. Traffic will follow the northbound frontage road to take the entrance ramp at Spur 503.

During this period, TxDOT urges drivers to exercise caution. Motorists who travel frequently in this area are asked to pay special attention to all barricades, traffic controls, and signs, and to reduce their speed as they approach and travel through work zones. They should also avoid distractions such as cell phones, eating, drinking, or car audio or navigation systems. TxDOT also asks drivers to remain alert to road crews while navigating through the construction zone.
