Ector Lady Eagles 17, Dodd City 7

Ector, Texas -- In District 11-2A softball competition, The Ector Lady Eagles posted a 17-7 win over the Dodd City Lady Hornets.

Ector jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning, but Dodd City tied the game with four runs in the top of the second.

Ector responded with nine runs in the bottom of the second to give the Lady Eagles a 13-4 lead.

Neither team managed to cross home plate in the third and fourth innings.

Dodd City scored three runs in the top of the fifth to get within six runs of the lead, but Ector added four runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to earn a 17-7 victory.

Dodd City's Gracyn Shindler and Makayla Camp both went 2-for-3. Camp drove in two runs and Shindler had one RBI.

Kelsey Hewett was 1-for-2, scored twice and drove in a pair of runs.

Ector junior Audrey Arie struck out eight to get the win, went 2-for-3 at the plate, scored three runs and had two RBIs.

Cheyenne Beaty, Aspen Harrison, Alana Mackey, Aleea Wheeler, Ella Laymance and Ainsley Greathouse all had two hits for the Lady Eagles.

Wheeler and Laymance both had three RBIs and Greathouse drove in two runs.

The Ector Lady Eagles will host Trenton on Tuesday, March 10 at 4:00 p.m.

The Dodd City Lady Hornets will host Sam Rayburn at 5:30 p.m. Friday, March 13.
