Denison, Texas -- Four members of Preston Trail Chapter, NSDAR in Pottsboro performed their chapter America 250! skit at the Denison History in the Hall event on February 19, 2026 for a packed house at Say When.
The reenactors portrayed Martha Washington, Betsy Ross, Lucy Knox and Abigail Adams. They talked about their experiences during the Revolutionary War, gave facts about the Declaration of Independence and asked trivia questions to the guests about the 13 colonies to get audience participation. It was a wonderful event, enjoyed by all!

To advertise the event, a representative from the City of Denison, Kurt Cichowski, arranged two TV interviews with local news stations, where he and two different ladies from the skit appeared in costume to invite the public to come see the show.
Thank you to the following ladies in the skit who made this a success: Mary Nan Story portrayed Martha Washington, Becky Isbell portrayed Betsy Ross, Amanda Bauman Ewton portrayed Lucy Knox and Doris Haynie portrayed Abigail Adams.

A similar skit was performed by these four ladies for the students at Pottsboro Elementary for Constitution Day in September 2025. There is a performance of the chapter’s America 250! skit planned for the scouts at the Scouting America Camporee at Lake Texoma at the end of March 2026, as well as a short version scheduled for the July 4th program for the City of Denison this summer.
