The event celebrates the chain of survival, recognizing the coordinated efforts of police officers, firefighters, EMS personnel, 911 dispatchers, and courageous bystanders.

Media interviews immediately following the ceremony

The Phoenix Survivor Recognition Event also highlights the momentum behind McKinney’s Neighborhood Heroes initiative, a community-driven effort to strengthen the city’s cardiac response network. The program equips CPR-trained residents with AED access and empowers everyday citizens to take action in the critical moments before first responders arrive. By expanding public access to lifesaving equipment and training, Neighborhood Heroes builds on the chain of survival celebrated during this ceremony, reinforcing the vital role bystanders play in improving cardiac arrest survival rates across McKinney.
