Kaleidoscope Park announces Inaugural Black Heritage Celebration

Frisco, Texas – Kaleidoscope Park will host its inaugural Black Heritage Celebration on Saturday, March 7, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., a day dedicated to honoring the history, influence, and ongoing contributions of Black communities.
Presented in collaboration with the Plano African American Museum and Alpha Kappa Alpha of Greater Frisco, the free public event will feature a wide range of cultural programming highlighting fashion, music, art, and entrepreneurship through engaging experiences designed for all ages.
Visitors can look forward to a dynamic lineup of live entertainment on the Performance Lawn, with performances beginning at 11 a.m. and continuing throughout the day, concluding with the final performance at 4 p.m. Performances will include stepping, live cello, rap, DJ sets, drum circles, motivational speaking, dance, oration, and spoken word.
Hands-on demonstrations at the Community Stage will begin at 11:30 a.m., with the final session taking place at 3:30 p.m., offering opportunities for learning, storytelling, and other modes of creative expression.
Families can also enjoy four interactive craft stations throughout the event, including unity bracelet making, African mask design, Adinkra stamp printing, and Kente paper weaving.
The celebration will be emceed by Michael Guinn, an award-winning poet, actor, promoter, and speaker, and a voting member of both the Recording Academy and the NAACP Image Awards.

Throughout the entire duration of the event, a curated lineup of Black-owned and operated businesses and organizations will be present for guests to explore and engage with, including (but not limited to):

Guests can also enjoy six food trucks onsite throughout the event, including Cookie Society, El Dog’s Gourmet Hot Dogs, Juniorz Sweet Treatz, Tahji’s Gourmet Lemonade, Ms. Bibby’s, Charmed by Missa (vegan options available), and Shells & Tails 2 Geaux.

ABOUT HALL PARK
A pioneering development in Frisco since the mid-1990s, HALL Park today encompasses 2.2 million square feet of office and retail space throughout 15 buildings. One-third of the park is dedicated to green space and includes three miles of walking trails, over 200 works of art including the Texas Sculpture Garden, the largest private collection of contemporary Texas sculpture made available to the public.
