Bonham, Texas (Feb. 4, 2026) -- The Bonham Economic Development Corporation (BEDCO) today announced Asher Oaks, a new 78-lot residential development on approximately 27 acres in the heart of Bonham. The community will be built by North Texas-based D.R. Horton, the nation’s largest homebuilder. Construction is scheduled to begin in late February, with the first home closings expected in May and all lots completed by 2028.

Asher Oaks will feature D.R. Horton’s Express Series® homes designed with both individuals and families in mind and well-suited for first-time homebuyers, showcasing modern architecture with clean lines, contrasting siding, covered front entries and varied elevations that create a cohesive yet visually diverse streetscape.

With 6 single- and 2-story floor plans ranging from approximately 1,192 to 1,917 square feet, Asher Oaks homes will offer 3 to 5 bedrooms, 2 to 2.5 bathrooms, open-concept layouts and 2-car garages. Homes are expected to be priced from the mid- to high-$200,000s, with final pricing announced closer to the grand opening in August 2026. Two model homes will be available for tours, and full buildout is expected in 2028.
Asher Oaks is centrally located next to Bonham High School and just minutes from the city’s historic downtown and local shopping, with easy access to Lake Bonham, Bois d’Arc Lake and Lake Ralph Hall.
