Kidz Krew is back with improv and theatre classes on Thursdays, from 4:30 to 5:30 pm for kids ages 8 and up. Session one will be all four Thursdays in February and session two will be all four Thursdays in March. Cost is $50 per session. Deadline to get in the February session is noon on Feb 4. Kidz Krew is also looking forward to their next production. Open auditions will be held on June 4. Check out the center’s website for more details.
There will be an Adult Improv class on all four Thursdays in March, from 6-7 pm. An Improv Showcase will be open to the public on Thursday, April 2 at 7 pm. The public is invited to come and watch. There will also be opportunities for audience members to join in too. Admission is free and donations will be encouraged.
The Thursday Literary Society has moved their meetings to the Creative Arts Center in 2026. This book club meets on the second Thursday of each month at 2 pm. New members are welcome. The February book is Midnight in the Garden of Good & Evil by John Berendt. The book list for the year is posted on the center’s website.
Another new activity for the new year is an Art Camp for Adults. This will include two full days of art, fellowship, food and fun on March 20 & 21. Sign ups are limited to 12 spots. More details and registration is available on the center’s website or by stopping in at the center’s office.
The February Art Show is celebrating 100 years of Black History Month. The opening reception will be on Friday, Feb 6, come and go from 5-7 pm. There will be a special program presented by Bethlehem Baptist Church starting at 5:30 pm. This event is free and open to the public.
Sweets, Hearts and Sparkles will be held on Saturday, Feb 7 from 10 am to 4 pm. There will be local vendors set up inside. The art center is part of the I Love Bonham Valentine Shopping Spree. On both February 6 & 7, shoppers will earn a raffle ticket for each $10 spent with one of the vendors or in the art gallery or gift shop. The raffle tickets will give shoppers a chance to earn merchandise, memberships or other prizes from the local businesses who are participating.
Tickets and tables are on sale now for the second annual Taste of Chocolate Gala. This event will be February 21 at 6 pm at the Complex. Guests can enjoy listening to live jazz music, featuring Brad Silwood on the saxophone, watch local artists paint and then bid on those creations in the live auction. Belle Rae’s will be serving up a delicious buffet dinner and the menu is posted on the center’s website. Guests will get two drink tickets and can choose from Neighbors Place Wines, soft drinks or bottled water courtesy of TXB and beer. There will also, of course, be a chocolate candy and dessert bar, including chocolate fountains and treats from local bakers. Early bird tickets are only $55 before noon on Feb 13. Other upcoming classes include watercolors, acrylics, basket weaving and more. Brush and Brunch is an acrylic paint class that includes lunch on Feb 3.
Watercolors with Chris Cravens will be on Feb 19 and with Tatiana Murray on Feb 12 and 27. A Pink Pig Paint Party with Jessie Bryant from 3 Little Birds Paintings will be in the evening of Feb 24.
Kids Crafts with Jaye Metellus is for kids ages 4-9 years old and is at 4 pm on Feb 10, 17 and 24. Youth Mixed Media with Sandy Barber is for youth ages 10 and up and will also be at the same days and times as Kids Crafts.
Jaye Metellus will host the next Kids Paint Party on Feb 28 from 10:30 am to noon and an adult paint party on Sunday, Feb 15 from 2-5 pm. Oil Pastels with Tatiana Murray will be on Feb 17. Wanda Oliver will teach about Gel Plate Printing on Feb 19. Sandy Barber will teach a basket weaving class on March 5.
Weekly yoga classes are held at 6 pm on Tuesdays with Kristi Dunbar. Weekly chair yoga classes meet on Wednesdays at 1 pm with Jenny Schero. Belly Dancing Workshop will be held on Saturday, Feb 28 from 10 am to noon.
Poetry at the Art Center with Michelle Haynes will be in the evening on Feb 19. All are welcome to bring their crochet, knitting, embroidery or other fiber arts to the next Sip & Stitch on Feb 19. The next meet up for the Junk Journal Club is Feb 25. The next monthly Artist Get Together is on Feb 27 from 1-3 pm.

The Creative Arts Center is a non-profit art gallery, gift shop and art center. It is located at 200 W 5th in Bonham. The center’s normal hours of operations are Tuesday – Friday from 10 am to 5 pm and Saturdays from 10 am to noon.
