Sherman, Texas -- Edith Lucille Hull was born on April 1, 1927, to Archie and Myrtle Henson near Rosebud, Texas. She was raised in the Rosebud and Briary areas, where her father farmed and helped build many of the surrounding farms. Lucille attended Cameron Yoe High School and graduated in 1944, tenth in her class of more than 100 students.

As the oldest daughter in a growing family, Lucille learned responsibility early. With the births of her brother Art and sister Wanda, followed by twin brothers Joe and John, and later her youngest sister Peggy, Lucille helped shoulder many household duties. Active in 4-H and skilled in sewing and cooking, she demonstrated a strong work ethic and maturity well beyond her years.

Lucille excelled academically, taking every available course in math, typing, bookkeeping, and shorthand. Though financial limitations initially prevented her from attending business school, she passed the civil service stenographer test in Waco.

In 1944, she moved to Sherman at the invitation of her uncle, Frank Henson, where she began a civil service position at Perrin Air Force Base while attending business school at night.

In Sherman, Lucille met Weldon Hull, and they were married on June 8, 1946. They had one son, James Walter Hull. In 1952, Lucille began working for Albert W. Brown, CPA, where she remained faithfully employed for 67 years, retiring in 2019.

Lucille was saved at the age of twelve and baptized in a cow pond, a moment she often recalled with gratitude. Her trust in her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, was the foundation of her life. She joined First Baptist Church upon moving to Sherman and later became a charter member of Fairview Baptist Church in 1951. She remained a devoted and continuous member for the rest of her life.

Lucille is survived by her sister, Peggy Hamilton; her sisters-in-law, Barbara Henson and Margaret Hull; many nieces and nephews; and her faithful companion of more than twenty years, Nick Hedgpeth, whom she lovingly called her son. She is also remembered fondly by many friends from church and work.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Weldon; her son, James; her siblings Art, Joe, John, and Wanda; her brother-in-law, Harry Hull; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, January 12, at Waldo Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 13, at Fairview Baptist Church in Sherman. Rev. Caleb Fleming will officiate, and interment will be at Cedarlawn Memorial Park in Sherman.

Memorial gifts should be made to Fairview Baptist Church, 222 Taylor St., Sherman, TX 75092; Heidelberg Theological Seminar, 7301 S. Louise Ave, Sioux Falls, SD 57018; or to Three Oaks Hospice, 1800 Teague Dr. #301, Sherman, TX 75090.
