Bonham, Texas -- Martha Luvada Coonrod, beloved mother and cherished member of her community, passed away peacefully on January 6, 2026, surrounded by her loving children, at the age of 92. She was born on November 25, 1933, to Joseph Thurman Hamilton and Ethel Isaac Hamilton.

Martha married her beloved husband, Dub Coonrod, on December 1, 1950, in the Boyd Community. Together, they shared a life rooted in love, devotion, and family. The couple enjoyed many happy years camping and fishing, creating treasured memories. Dub preceded Martha in death in 2019.

A devoted stay-at-home mother, Martha lovingly raised her children and firmly believed in the importance of strong family bonds. She found great joy in nurturing her loved ones and was always willing to extend a helping hand to anyone in need. Always happy and smiling, Martha had a warm presence that lit up every room she entered. A faithful and cherished member of Boyd Baptist Church, she made a lasting impact.

In her later years, Martha enjoyed playing games, and her laughter, happiness, and competitive spirit brought joy to many family gatherings.



She is preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Ethel Hamilton, husband William Marion "Dub" Coonrod, daughter Barbara Gail Ervin, and nine brothers.

Martha is survived by her children, Kathy Wilson, Belinda Allison and husband Jim, and Donald Coonrod and wife Coralea, all of Bonham, grandchildren, Kathryn Ziegler, Jeremy Wilson, Quetin Barnes and wife Dena, Justin Williams and wife Vickie, Travis Coonrod, Caleb Coonrod and wife Kailey, 5 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great- grandchildren, along with numerous extended family and friends.

A visitation will be held on Friday, January 9, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home in Bonham. A funeral service will follow at 3:00 p.m. Bro Mike Allred will officiate. Burial will follow at Willow Wild Cemetery.
