Whitewright, Texas -- Nicholas James Underwood, of Whitewright, Texas, passed away on December 17, 2025, at the age of 47. Nick was born in Fort Worth, Texas, on November 16, 1978, to Gretchen and Jon Underwood.

His childhood was filled with great memories and love, spent with his younger brother, Michael Underwood, and his cousins. He had a passion for baseball and was a pitcher on the field. He spent the beginning of his adulthood driving trains and searching for his one true love, Jamie Underwood, whom he married in 2006 after falling in love with her on their first date.

His life was devoted to his love for her and their three children, Quinn Teddlie, Caden Underwood, and Linus Underwood. To Nick, family always came first. In 2022, he became a Pop-Pop to his first grandchild, Mila Theobald, and quickly became the center of her life. Then, in 2024, he welcomed his second grandchild, Adelyn Theobald, and became a light in her life as well. He had a special energy and goodness that radiated from him as he walked into a room—something anybody and everybody could feel.

Nick had a lifelong passion for caring for animals. He combined this passion with Jamie by opening a dog rescue called Canine Karma Rescue. Through this rescue, they fostered less fortunate dogs in hopes of finding them perfect homes.

Nick Underwood will live on in the hearts of everyone he impacted—a beacon of kindness and love, and a soul that shined with a light that provided warmth to all.
