Shirley was a devoted wife to her late husband, Bobby, and a nurturing figure to many, frequently opening her home to the neighborhood children who fondly regarded her as a second mother. Her passion for life was evident in her love for country dancing, where she and Bobby often shared joyful moments on the dance floor.
In addition to her role as a mother, Shirley dedicated herself to her community. Every summer, she eagerly participated in the Feed the Kids program and devoted her time to various food outreach initiatives during the holidays.
Shirley is preceded in death by her husband Bobby, daughter Jamie Hewitt, two brothers and four sisters.
Shirley is survived by her son, Terry Hewitt, daughter Janet Hewitt, granddaughter Stormy Breshers, grandsons Robert James Grizzle, Mason Hewitt and James David Echols, along with 15 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held in her honor at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 27, 2025 at Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home in Honey Grove. Visitation will help one hour prior to the service. Friends and family are invited to gather to celebrate Shirley's life and share in the cherished memories she leaves behind.
