Sherman, Texas – The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) officials have announced upcoming nightly full closure of the northbound mainlanes of US 75, beginning at Travis Street. The closure is scheduled to begin from 8 p.m. on Dec. 15, until 5 a.m. on Dec. 16. This closure will be to switch traffic onto the new pavement between Lamberth Drive and Loy Lake Road.

Another closure is scheduled to begin from 8 p.m. on Dec. 17, until 5 a.m. on Dec. 18. This closure will be to accommodate the Taylor St bridge deck paving.

Northbound traffic will be detoured at Exit 60 onto the northbound Sam Rayburn Expressway. Motorists should continue north along the frontage road, bypassing the work area on the mainlanes, and re-enter US 75 using the next available entrance ramp.

During this period, TxDOT urges drivers to exercise caution. Motorists who travel frequently in this area are asked to pay special attention to all barricades, traffic controls, and signs, and to reduce their speed as they approach and travel through work zones. They should also avoid distractions such as cell phones, eating, drinking, or car audio or navigation systems. TxDOT also asks drivers to remain alert to road crews while navigating through the construction zone.
