Fannin County, Texas -- Volunteer Workday this Saturday at historic Shilo Cemetery, located off CR-3015 about 3.5 miles SE of Bonham. We'll be clearing out the fallen trees and branches from last spring's storms. Chain saws to cut up the branches, and upright dollys to haul the chunks out of the cemetery, are helpful, but not required.

Come when you can and stay as little or as long as you like -- even half an hour can make a big difference.

Shilo Cemetery served as a final resting place for both White and Black residents from the 1840s to the 1950s. With the exception of a brief rescue during the 1970s, Shilo had been abandoned until revival efforts restarted in 2020.
