Wylie, Texas — Jericho Village, an attainable housing community developed by Agape Resource & Assistance Center, is entering its final stages of completion, now 90% finished, and is celebrating this milestone with the planting of 88 trees across the community. The project, sponsored by the Texas Trees Foundation through the generosity of ORIX Corporation USA and One Earth One Chance, represents a major step in creating a welcoming, healing, and supportive environment for future residents.

Affordable and attainable housing remains one of North Texas’ most pressing challenges. As rental costs rise and families struggle to find stable homes, solutions can feel out of reach. Agape Resource & Assistance Center is proving that tangible solutions are possible.

“We know the housing crisis in North Texas can feel impossible to solve,” said Janet Collinsworth, Executive Director. “Jericho Village is proof that with collaboration, thoughtful planning, and wraparound support, we can create communities where families can thrive.”

Located at 511 West Brown Street in Wylie, Texas, Jericho Village sits on a 2.46-acre site across from childcare and an elementary school, just minutes from downtown Wylie and Collin College. The community features 38 mixed-income rental homes within nine quadruplex-style buildings, along with a community center, playground, community garden, and outdoor living areas, all designed to foster connection and support among residents. Rental rates are based on income, ensuring accessibility for families working toward stability and independence.

Residents will have access to wraparound services, including childcare, transportation assistance, workforce development, financial literacy training, and counseling. The first residents are expected to move in by the end of 2025.

Community members and businesses are invited to participate by adopting a tree, dedicating it in honor of a loved one, special occasion, or business. Each adopted tree will include a personalized plaque, leaving a lasting legacy. Adopt-a-tree here.

This project is made possible through the generosity and partnership of the Texas Trees Foundation, whose dedication to greener, healthier, and more resilient communities is helping bring life and beauty to Jericho Village. Special thanks to ORIX Corporation USA and One Earth One Chance for funding support, making the vision of a thriving, tree-filled community a reality.
