The Ector Lady Eagles showed incredible grit on defense Tuesday night in their matchup against the Dodd City Lady Hornets. Despite falling in three sets (13–25, 17–25, 15–25), the Lady Eagles’ defensive effort stood out as they recorded an impressive 82 digs as a team.
Leading the defensive charge was Audrey Arie, who tallied 29 digs. Adalynn Dederick added 15 digs along with 4 assists and 2 kills, while Alana Mackey contributed 11 digs, 4 kills, and 4 assists. Lydia Essary also had a strong night with 11 digs, 3 kills, and an ace. Ally Harris chipped in 9 digs and a kill, Aleea Wheeler added 6 digs, 1 kill, and 2 aces, and Odette Cruz rounded out the defense with 2 digs.
Although Ector couldn’t secure the win, the Lady Eagles’ relentless defense and never-quit attitude were clear throughout the match. Their 82 digs reflect a team that continues to fight hard and grow stronger each game.
